The Ballet Festival "Mariynsky" has begun in St. Petersburg

For the fourteenth time the stages of Mariynsky Theatre host the International Ballet Festival "Mariynsky".

This time the ballet Sylvia by Leo Delibes (the choreographer - Federick Ashton) has become the main first night of the festival. Its plot is taken from the pastoral by Torquato Tasso of Renaissance time. The story chants the love of the shepherd named Aminta to the nymph by the name Sylvia. The performance was produced by Mariynsky Theatre troupe as well as Anna Trevi, the specialist of dance recording from London, and Susan Jose, the teacher of American Ballet Theatre.

The festival visitors will be able to see the ballet "Napoli ", "INFA" and "Diana Vishneva – The Facets".
The Creative Workshop of young choreographers will become the special event of the International Festival.
The Ballet Festival "Mariynsky" is held from April 3 to 13.
